Home Peterborough Society of Model Engineers

Welcome

Our Society, situated in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, provides a meeting point for like-minded members and friends sharing an interest in Model Engineering, whether it is Steam/Electric/Diesel Locomotives, Traction Engines, Boats, Aircraft or Tools. There are at present approximately 100 members and the last few years have seen a steady increase to our membership.

Our meetings take place at All Saints Church Hall, Park Road, Peterborough. PE1 2UJ and are held on the first and third Mondays of the Month (with a few exceptions).  Mostly the meetings held on the first Mondays are ‘Bits and Pieces’ meetings, where members bring along their work in progress or anything else that may be of interest to other members. At the other meetings we have talks on subjects associated with our hobby (sometimes very loosely associated), or we arrange visits to sites of interest. Throughout the year, we also arrange visits to other clubs in the local vicinity and operate a portable railway track to local events and fetes.

If you are interested in who we are and what we do then we welcome visitors to our meetings.

We now have the facility to accept donations via PayPal (go to FUNDRAISING under the Events & Fundraising section). The Calendar can be found here too.

Well the 2016 summer has come to a close… we’ve been a busy bunch as usual, and we’ve added a few more items of interest. You’ll find two more loco projects on the go.

We had our 20th Sacrewell event this year so we’ve the usual photos showing the weekend and some write-ups kindly supplied which you may have seen in “Old Glory” or “Model Engineer”.

If there’s any news re- a new site, we’ll keep you posted.
